The Ripon show went really well, and we think we'll be back there for New Year's with a very special, some may say unexpected, co-headliner. Stay tuned...
As always the Hitching Post 10/11 show went great, and we had a ton of family and friends there for the action. We'll see everyone there again on 12/13.
For those of you who were not there to hear the news, we made the very difficult, amicable decision to part ways with Merrick. This decision was toiled over for a long time and wasn't made lightly. It became clear that his schedule with work and family vs. the demands of the band became too much for all of us, and we had to make the split. We've all made peace with the outcome, and since making the decision, the last few shows have been our best with Merrick. The band feels very fortunate to have had Merrick in the fold for the last year because he made us step our game up. And there's no way we could have made our amazing new album without the monster beats and fills Merrick added. Merrick will always remain in the good company of our past members, the extended SKIF family, and we have no doubt he'll continue to destroy stages across Wisconsin with whatever lucky bands he works with.
Our last show with Merrick will be the Halloween show at Top Stick in NFDL, on 11/1 with our friends Collysion in the opening slot. The show starts at 9. This show will also be...
...the first show with our new drummer, Bill Conrad (a.k.a. William II)!! Bill has some big shoes to fill, and we're excited and confident he will kick some major ass. Bill brings years of experience and a punk/jazz influenced style. We can't wait to see the effects his style will have on the ever-changing styles of SKIF's music.
