5/17 ZMC show review by Sarah Schwersenska
Written by Mike Schaub
Monday, 02 June 2008

Sarah Schwersenska, a writer for Adult Entertainment Today, was present for our 5/17 show at the Zodiac Motorcycle Club and wrote the following review of the show:

"Ok, I know this column is all about sex but I want to share something with you that is as hot as sex, as vibrating as sex can be, and will still make you cum with excitement. I give you SKIF.

From the depths of the Zodiac Motorcycle Clubhouse in Oshkosh arises a new sound. A sound louder than the motorcycles pulling in, louder than all of the good friends having a great time. It was the sound of five guys, rockin the fuckin night away - yes, it was the band known as Skif. Made up of the very awesome musical talents of Mike on vocals, Eric and Mark on Guitar, John on Bass and Merrick on drums, this band is one like I have never heard.

Everywhere you see a live band, especially one as hard as these guys, over 80% of the time you see tons of cover songs and nothing else. This band not only did cover songs that fuckin blew me out of the water but their originals blew the covers away. The variety and original style in their cover songs is just  so fuckin awesome you have to see it for yourself. You will get to hear them play tribute to the most awesome musicians of our time like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Alice Cooper, and even the Man in Black himself, Johnny fuckin Cash! It makes you appreciate the Ring of Fire so much more! The crowd was going crazy for the sound of these guys, they rocked the fuckin house. When their originals came around, the house got louder and joined in. Their songs are easy to understand but hard enough to get your head banging, your asscheeks vibrating in your chair if you were sitting and the whole bar shaking. Hey, what can I say, I like my ass vibrating, Skif made my ass feel gooooood.
What raised the roof as well were the solos. The guitar solo from Eric, the man brought to us from New York City, was wicked as hell. The whole crowd was mesmerized trying to keep the fuck up with his fingers flying across those strings, yeah, impossible. Jimmy eat your heart out. The bass solo was loud and fuckin raunchy, just like a bass solo should be, you know damn well it got everyone in the house wet in their seats! Thanks to John Jones for that wet piece of ass man. Merrick's drum solo was loud and awesome. I know we were all thinking, dude, don't your fuckin arms hurt? Lol. He rocked those drums, kudos to you buddy. You rattled our beer cans on the damn bar. Mike, well Mike did this kick ass little commentary on the Deer Camp song I think, lol, it was funny, guess you had to be there. What got every Zodiak brother and sister in the house to stand up and shut up was Marks guitar solo, ending with our national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. Hats and bandanas were off and all of the bikers and biker bitches were singing and cheering. It was a memorable moment in club Zodiak.
Check out Skifs website cause you will be fuckin disappointed as hell if you miss them if they come to your town. www.skifband.com or their myspace page at www.myspace.com/skif. Skip seeing Skid Row at the Rave or the Van Halen fuckin reunion. These guys blow them all outta the water. Boys, when you make it big, remember us little people. Watch for Skif's new cd coming out soon! Much love and Respect to Skif - "

What an unbelievably cool crowd we had at the Zodiac Motorcycle Club this Saturday. These people really made us feel welcome and rocked hard to our originals and covers. We made some friends that night and look forward to givingthe entire Zodiac community another great show sometime soon.

Wow what a great show that was! We had one hell of a time tearing it up with our friends in Substitute For Hysteria, as well as the dudes in Stepwise and Zero Gauge. The crowd was pretty stoked with our set, and we felt right at home. We can't wait to hook up more gigs in Sheboygan and with S4H. Thanks and good luck to those guys in the final rounds of the Emergenza shows, as they really deserve it.
